1. Overview
This Warranty Policy applies to all eligible jewellery purchased directly from Canora Diamonds Inc. through our website or another authorised sales channel. It covers qualifying defects in materials and workmanship identified within [three years] from the original delivery date, subject to the conditions, exclusions, and claim procedures set out below. This is a limited manufacturing warranty. It does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage, loss, theft, improper care, misuse, or other circumstances excluded under this Policy.
This warranty is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights under applicable law in Canada, and the United States, and does not limit those rights.

2. What Is Covered
Our Warranty Policy covers defects in materials and workmanship that were present at the time of delivery or arose during the warranty period under normal use as determined by Canora Diamonds Inc. upon inspection and verification, including:
- Verified manufacturing defects in original metalwork, solder joints, prongs, clasps, posts, or other settings;
- Structural failure resulting directly from a manufacturing defect and not from wear, impact, misuse, neglect, improper sizing, accidental damage, or unauthorised alteration or repair. A stone that becomes loose while still in the item, where inspection confirms that the condition resulted directly from a manufacturing defect in the original setting. Unless required by applicable law, this warranty does not cover the loss of a diamond or gemstone, including a stone lost from a worn, damaged, distorted, or unmaintained setting.
- A verified defect in the original application of a finish, plating, or rhodium coating that is apparent on delivery or reported within 60 days after delivery. Verified manufacturing defects in original earring posts and chain clasps. Detachable backs, stoppers, and similar removable components are not covered against loss or ordinary wear.
Coverage applies only where the defect is confirmed by Canora Diamonds Inc. or an authorised service provider following inspection.
3. What Is Not Covered
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear, including scratches, dents, abrasions, loss of polish, metal discolouration, thinning of bands, wearing or bending of prongs, loosening caused by wear, and gradual metal erosion;
- Damage caused by accident, impact, dropping, bending, snagging, pulling, twisting, crushing or excessive pressure;
- Damage from exposure to unsuitable chemicals including chlorine, salt water, perfumes, lotions, unsuitable cosmetics or cleaning agents;
- Damage from unauthorised repairs, resizing, or any modifications by self or third parties not authorized by Canora Diamonds Inc.;
- Loss or theft of the jewellery or any diamond, gemstone, or component;
- Ordinary fading, wearing, or removal of rhodium plating, gold plating, vermeil, coatings, patinas, or surface finishes from everyday use;
- Damage including chipping, cracking, scratching, abrasion, cleavage, breaking, bruising, thermal shock, or other damage to diamonds or gemstones occurring after delivery due to impact or thermal shock and any type of mishandling;
- Stretching or distortion of chains and bracelets from improper use;
- Lab-grown or natural diamonds that develop characteristics after purchase that are inherent to the stone (e.g., natural inclusions visible under magnification).
4. Loose Diamonds
At the time of delivery, a loose diamond should correspond materially with the product description and, where applicable, the independent grading report identified in the order documentation.
Independent grading reports represent the opinion of the issuing laboratory (IGI, GIA or equivalent) at the time of examination. Grading may vary between laboratories, graders, methodologies, or subsequent examinations. A difference of grading opinion does not by itself establish a manufacturing defect or breach of this Warranty Policy.
This Warranty Policy does not cover loss, chipping, cracking, scratching, abrasion, alteration, re-cutting, re-polishing, setting damage, removal or alteration of a laser inscription, contamination, or other damage occurring after delivery.
Claims that a loose diamond does not correspond with the confirmed product description or identified grading report must be reported promptly after delivery and are subject to inspection and verification.
5. How to Make a Warranty Claim
All warranty claims are subject to physical inspection and verification by Canora Diamonds Inc. or an authorised service provider. The existence of damage or failure does not, by itself, establish that a manufacturing defect exists.
- Contact us at support@canoradiamonds.com with your order number, payment receipt, a description of the issue, when the issue was first noticed and clear photographs or video where reasonably requested.
- Acceptable proof of purchase is required. We may also verify the product’s authenticity, serial number, grading report, inscriptions, components, and condition before providing warranty service.
- Our team will assess your claim and advise on next steps.
- If the claim is approved, we will arrange for the item to be returned via fully insured shipping at our expense.
- If inspection confirms a covered defect, we may, at our option and subject to applicable law, repair the item, replace it with the same or a reasonably comparable item, or refund some or all of the original purchase price. The appropriate remedy will depend on the nature of the defect, feasibility of repair, availability of materials, age and condition of the item, and applicable consumer law.
- If inspection determines that the issue is not covered, we may offer a paid repair estimate. Any inspection, shipping, insurance, customs, or handling charges will be disclosed before paid service proceeds.
- Estimated service times are normally 15–30 business days after receipt and inspection but are not guaranteed. Complex repairs, custom components, stone sourcing, supplier delays, shipping, customs clearance, or other circumstances may require additional time.
- Before returning an item, customers should remove any detachable personal effects or accessories not supplied as part of the original product. We are not responsible for unauthorised items included in a return package.
We may refuse delivery of, or return, items sent without authorisation, adequate insurance, or appropriate packaging.
6. Repairs and Servicing
6.1 Complimentary Services
- Ring resizing (one time): Ring resizing is a separate complimentary service and is not part of manufacturing-defect coverage. One complimentary resize may be available within 30 days of delivery for eligible designs, subject to design, metal, stone-setting, and sizing limitations. See our Returns, Refunds and Exchanges Policy.
- Annual inspection: We recommend having jewellery inspected at least annually and promptly whenever a stone, prong, clasp, or setting appears loose or damaged. An annual inspection is recommended maintenance and is not a guarantee against future damage or stone loss. Inspection will be carried out based on our service availability.
6.2 Paid Services
Repairs outside warranty coverage (e.g., prong retipping due to wear, chain repair, replating) are available at competitive rates. We will provide a quote before commencing work. No paid repair work will begin until the customer approves the quoted work, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Inspection or return-shipping charges may apply to items that are not covered by this Warranty Policy. Any applicable charge will be disclosed before paid work begins.
7. Warranty Transferability
This warranty is transferable to a new owner only with written agreement between Canora Diamonds Inc. and original owner. Transferability requires acceptable proof of original purchase and is subject to inspection, verification of authenticity, and confirmation that the item has not been altered or repaired by an unauthorised person. Transfer does not restart or extend the original warranty period. The warranty period continues from the original date of purchase.
8. Limitations
- This Warranty Policy does not cover damage, defects, or failures caused or contributed to by repair, resizing, alteration, modification, setting work, polishing, refinishing, or servicing performed by an unauthorised third party. We may decline coverage where third-party work prevents us from reliably determining the cause of the claimed defect.
- To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our obligations under this voluntary Warranty Policy are limited to the repair, replacement, or refund remedy described above. Any refund will not exceed the original purchase price actually paid for the affected item, excluding any amount already refunded.
- Subject to applicable law, Canora Diamonds Inc. will determine the appropriate warranty remedy after inspection. A refund is not automatically available where the item can reasonably be repaired or replaced.
- If an identical replacement is unavailable, we may offer a reasonably comparable item. Replacement jewellery, diamonds, gemstones, metals, components, colours, finishes, or dimensions may vary where the original materials or design are no longer available.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, this Warranty Policy does not cover indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including loss of use, sentimental value, loss of profit, or the cost of obtaining a replacement item from another supplier. Any remedy is based on the affected item’s original purchase price and does not include sentimental, emotional, commemorative, or subjective value.
- Nothing in this warranty excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer protection law.
